Jayne and Vicki have known each other for 7 years. Firstly as work colleagues and later becoming firm friends. They both identify as disabled people and adhere to the social model of disability. They have many years experience within the disability movement.
Jayne worked for many years with Derby City Council before taking a post at The British Council of Disabled People in 1999 where she worked as PA to the Chief Executive at that time.
Vicki worked for the Derbyshire Ambulance Service before taking a post at The British Council of Disabled People in 2000 where she worked within the Groups Development Programme which worked with new and emerging groups of disabled people to form their own organisations and become independent.
Jayne and Vicki both have families, all of whom were very supportive when they decided to create TranscriptionsUK.
They decided to form Transcriptions UK in response to the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) part III which came into force in October 2004. Transcriptions UK is more than just a business; it is a belief that all disabled people should be treated equally in society.
Jayne and Vicki both look forward to working with any organisation that want to not only meet their legal requirements under the DDA but have a genuine desire to put equality at the forefront of their business.
When you contact TranscriptionsUK you can be assured of a warm welcome and a professional service.
